National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology

Are you ready to prove to your employer, your dentist and yourself that you are the best in your specific area of dental technology? If so, the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology (NBC) Modularization Program is your next step.

There are an estimated 42,000 dental technologists in the United States. Of these technicians, over 6,000 are currently active Certified Dental Technicians (CDTs). Many of the 35,000 non-CDTs lack the formal educational foundation in dental technology and focus their work on a specific activity in the manufacture of dental devices.

The NBC Modularization program is comprised of short written and practical examinations that assess the competency of process/task technicians and can be completed without having to leave your 'home' laboratory. A Modularization "Certificate of Competency" allows you to prove your abilities and to demonstrate your skill level to your employers and the dentists with whom they work.

The NBC Modularization program is NOT a certification program. Candidates who successfully complete earn Modularization "Certificates of Competency" will not be required to renew, submit proof of continuing education or pay annual renewal fees.
