Thank you for providing a NBC Approved course and facilitating
the continuing education efforts of
Certified Dental Technicians!
The National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology is continuously looking for new and improved ways to manage our Continuing Education program as well as ways to offer the utmost customer service and a greater value to both our providers and to our Certified Dental Technicians (CDT) and Recognized Graduates (RG).
Thus, for the 2011 year the NBC Board of Trustees has approved implementing some new changes for our continuing education program. Here is a glimpse of what changes are coming:
- NBC will have a searchable calendar online for CE courses
- The Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology will link their online career ladder to the NBC's searchable online calendar of CE courses
When you apply to have your CE course approved, new information about the courses will be collected. This information will then be available for a technician to search based on the criteria they select and by the information in which you provide.
- Course Title
- Presenter/Speaker
- Sponsoring Organization/Host
- Date
- Location (Hotel/Venue - City, State, Zip)
- Additional Information (website to register, phone number to contact, etc.)
- Learning objectives
- Educational Level of the course (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Master)
- Prerequisite Knowledge (Yes or No)
- Where this information links back to the CDT Exam Content Outline
In order to offer these new valued services, it will require some minimal fees to cover administration for web marketing. Beginning with any courses that seek approval for 2011 these are the new fees.
Single Course Registration - $40 per course with a 50% discount if you are a CDT, RG or NADL Member = $20 per course
Blanket Course Registration - (a "blanket course" is a single course presented multiple times during a calendar year but it has the same host and/or speaker and course content)
$80 per course with a 50% discount if you are a CDT, RG or NADL member = $40 per course
Qualified Educational Provider Course Registration - (a "Qualified Educational Provider" is a non-profit group formed for the express purpose of providing education within dentistry) $20 per course with a 50% discount for NADL Component members in good standing = $10 per course
Qualified CE Provider Registration - (this is any company who wishes to apply to provide courses on an ongoing basis and would prefer to pay an annual flat fee)
$3,000 annually and this will include up to 200 courses annually, including blanket courses with a 50% discount to NADL members in good standing = $1500 annually and will include up to 200 courses including blanket courses
These changes will go in effect immediately beginning January 1, 2011. The online searchable calendar will be available beginning mid-February 2011. Please begin utilizing our new forms (found below) to help us capture this information. The more information in which you provide us the more in which we will be able to publish online to better promote your courses.
